WHAT IS EARTH OVERSHOOT DAY?

Have you heard of Earth Overshoot Day? It’s a calculated illustrative calendar date on which humanity’s resource consumption for the year exceeds Earth’s capacity to regenerate those resources that year.

In 2017, we reached Earth Overshoot Day on August 2nd! That means we need 1.7 earths in order to sustain the amount of resources we are currently using.
So what’s a simple thing you can do to help #movethedate ? How about bringing a litterless lunch everyday!?

Bring your own reusable utensils, a reusable cloth napkin, your to-go coffee mug, etc!

It’s easy to start thinking that “one person will never make a difference”. It’s easy to feel like it’s too late, or that we are too small to be significant... But we are not small *together*. And that is why practicing a more sustainable lifestyle is so important. Together, all of our small, conscious actions will move mountains.

Pictured above we have a paper leather lunch bag, bamboo cutlery set, reusable cloth napkin, stainless steel ice pack, glass coffee tumbler, stainless steel 2-tier tiffin and a stainless steel dip container!
